Yankees On The Move

The Yankees have been playing a lot better since Posada has returned. The pitching of Wang, Pettitte, Mussina and Joba has looked pretty good of late and the offense has definitely shown some signs of recovery. When Kennedy comes back to the big club, I can see him or Rasner being the fifth starter or Girardi going to some kind of semi-starter situation where one will start and the other will serve as an appointed reliever when the first sign of big trouble occurs. Neither one looks like they could throw 6-7 quality innings at this point so a three inning stint may serve both of them well in getting them to focus and minimizing the pressure.

I really like the way Damon and Giambi have come on lately. They have been making really good contact and they have become legitimate threats again. I still believe Jeter has been playing through injuries caused by being hit by those pitches a little while back. Posada hasn't shown any signs of rust or any lingering effects from that shoulder injury.

The Yankees are playing good ball lately but I hope the injury to Wang is nothing more than a sprain. They can get by with a couple of starts by someone else but anything longer than that will wreak havoc for the team.
